Let’s face it, the live music scene in Aotearoa has been suffering greatly since 2020, especially if you were in Auckland. Many gigs were cancelled, tours postponed and the planned gig by Written By Wolves to launch The Collab Project had to be placed on hold. Then it was rebooked for February 2022 only for the pandemic to rear its ugly head again. But finally, last night it was back with a new line-up, “Third Time Lucky”.
To make it a special occasion Written By Wolves invited six other bands to join in the fun, while keeping the price low and also making it an all-ages show, so there was absolutely no excuse to miss what will be a very special night indeed.
One young band, Stacked, were given an opportunity to play to a larger audience, while Shepherds Reign, Ekko Park, Coridian, Pull Down The Sun and Venom Dolls are no strangers to the live environment and have deserved reputations of being some of the most important Kiwi bands around. Alongside the icons which are Written By Wolves, this was certainly a night to remember.
