The Sisters Of Mercy

5th November 2022
Forum, Melbourne, Australia

Photography by Alexander Hallag.

Goth rock legends The Sisters of Mercy have been touring Australasia over the past few weeks, and such was the magnitude of how great these shows are, and since we covered the first couple of shows in New Zealand (Auckland – here, Wellington – here) it just felt right that we sent someone along to the last show of the tour as well.

Last night the who’s who of the Melbourne Dark-End scene were out en masse, congregating at the Forum for a night of classic Sisters tunes, alongside their newer, and just as great, tracks.

Ambient Light photographer Alexander Hallag was there camera in hand, and has filed this gallery of images from the night – check it out below!

Were you there at the Forum for this magnificent goth rock gig? Or have you seen The Sisters of Mercy perform live somewhere else before? Tell us about it in the comments below!

  1. In a (long) lifteime of gigs, I’d walked out on 4 until last night. Now it’s 5. After 25 minutes, the pre-recorded drums and bass backing tape, appalling vocal effect on AE, wanky posturing from all on stage, and every number sounding exactly the same, I’d had more than enough. I was not alone in departing early – watching from a bar across the road in Fed Square, it was a consistent stream of the disappointed.
