Press Release:

The married rock and roll couple that are Pat and Lety Beers (on guitar and drums respectively) were last here in early 2020 when the world was about to covid crumble… now with a new bass player – Tommy Lambert Granger (kiwi Takumi Mcintyre has moved to Berlin) they bring ‘the show’ to New Zealand again on the back of their new album Hoof It (check the new track Won Your Love below)!

Still need convincing? Check out the pics shot for Ambient Light from the last time they were here by Connor Crawford to see what all the fuss is about!

And let’s not forget Pat and Lety are BIG fans of Christchurch legends the Chants R&B… on their first visit in 2019 Pat was able to sneak into the Chants subterranean lair The Stage Door – where the Chants last performed in November 1966! He was captured performing two numbers the Chants use to perform live.

Jump ahead to their last visit in 2020, and Napier’s Paisley Stage show sees them joined by The Chants bass player Marty Forrer for a medley of Chants R&B favourites. Chants founder and lead singer Mike Rudd was due to join them in Melbourne at the Tote but being right on the cusp of the covid situation of the time – those plans were scuttled… watch this space….

However, joining the Schizophonics will be the founding members of the Auckland chapter of the David Lee Roth Appreciation society Neon Serpent – and at the Whammy Back Room show will be local ne’er do wells … RATSO!

The Schizophonics will also play three shows with The D4… and will of course play their own headlining shows here…

Whew!
