Howler, Melbourne, Australia

Born in San Francisco, Reb later migrated with her family from North America to a serene town called Lyttelton. Filled with an eclectic mix of artists and individuals that have created and fuelled the town’s creative scene, her fellow friends Marlon Williams (who she played in support of tonight), Aldous Harding, and Delaney Davidson have been fundamental to the city’s growth and reputable music culture.

MOJO magazine called Reb, “New Zealand’s next alt-folk sensation”, awarding Reb’s latest album IRIS 4 stars. Reb’s 2020 album, Reb Fountain won the 2021 Taite Music Prize, was shortlisted for the Silver Scroll award for her song ‘Don’t You Know Who I Am’, and the album Reb Fountain was nominated for five New Zealand Music Awards. A perfect extension of her 2020 self-titled album, IRIS elevates Reb Fountain’s music to new heights.

Reb effortlessly combines pop elements with her trademark noir folk-punk sound, weaving authentic and anthemic tunes that create an instant and indelible impression. Tonight, performing in support of Marlon Williams, Reb performed at the great Melbourne venue, Howler. Ambient Light photographer Alexander Hallag was there to photograph her set, and has just filed this gallery – check it out below!
