The National release new single and music video

Hot on the heels of The National claiming their first U.S. #1 at commercial radio on the AAA radio chart with ‘The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness‘, the band has released ‘Carin at the Liquor Store‘, accompanied by a video (which you can view below) directed by Casey Reas, filmed by La Blogothèque and edited by Matthew Miller. Both songs, along with the previously released ‘Guilty Party‘ are off the band’s seventh studio album Sleep Well Beast, out on September 8.

Following its premiere as Zane Lowe’s World Record on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio, ‘Carin at the Liquor Store’ is now available everywhere.

In advance of their mostly sold-out northern hemisphere tour, The National played Glastonbury in the second to headlining slot on the Pyramid Stage (“Could The National Be Glastonbury’s Next Headliners?” asked the NME), performed two intimate nights in the round at Hudson’s Basilica and will play this week at Haven Festival in Copenhagen.

While there have been no southern-hemisphere shows announced as of yet, we still hold out hope for some kind of tour soon – their show at Auckland City Limits back in 2016 only served us a taste of what was to come, and we are hungry for more!
