23rd – 24th March 2024
Cuba Street, Wellington, New Zealand.

Photography by Tim Gruar.

Over the weekend Pōneke partied like there was no tomorrow, thanks to CubaDupa, the city’s most most iconic, creative, and diverse arts festival, which showcases music, dance, theatre, kai and colour from over 1200 artists.

The two-day festival is a platform for performers from all genres including te reo Māori, Brazilian and Latin Music, pop, funk rap and every other kind and genre you can think of.

The streets exploded with sweet sounds from DJs, dance groups, art installations, folk outfits, circus acts and the energetic sounds of Batucada, alongside plenty of food trucks and other interactive experiences.

Tim Gruar was there roaming around to attempt to capture some of the magic – check it out below!
