Bulletbelt’s Cloak The Night Documentary now online

Bulletbelt Cloak The Night Still

In association with Hell Pizza, our favourite New Zealand based metallers Bulletbelt have just released ‘Cloak The Night’ online (and you can view it below!).

‘Cloak The Night’ is a short documentary that follows the Wellington metal giants as they track their third studio album ‘Nine Centuries’.

‘Nine Centuries’ is due to be released on 11th December 2017 and is about The Burning Times and witch trials during the Dark Ages up to the nineteenth century.

The band relocated to Auckland for a week and worked with engineer Cam Sinclair (ex-Diocletian / Bridge Burner) at The Lab Studio to track the album. The band was followed throughout that week by video producer Amber Beaton who documented the process through one-on-one interviews and in-studio sessions.

The first song (and accompanying video clip) from Nine Centuries (also titled ‘Cloak The Night’) was recently released online and is accompanied by a stunning (but quite NSFW) video featuring the well known New Zealand actors/dancers Hannah Tasker-Poland and Emmanuel Reynaud amongst a cast of extras and band members.

The video – which you can view below, was produced and directed by Aleksander Sakowski who states “My goal was to create a renaissance-style painting using surrealist symbols influenced by Beksinski and Jodorowsky. I wanted the themes to be provocative, intimate and messy, using minimalist concepts. The intensity of the music is juxtaposed against protracted shots which is all brought together with the post visual effects.”

Bulletbelt’s new album Nine Centuries was recorded at The Lab Recording Studio in Auckland and is due for release on December 11th 2017 at https://bulletbeltnz.bandcamp.com/ as well as your friendly local record store.
